For more than 25 years, FODAC has given adults and children with disabilities in need the durable medical equipment (DME) necessary for an enhanced quality of life. Over the history of our organization, we have provided medical supplies and items of all types—from standers and wheelchairs to hoyer lifts and hospital beds. But we couldn’t do it without the families and organizations who donate their new and used medical equipment, and our volunteer-run repair shop that cleans, refurbishes and matches the equipment to the specs of the new user. Home Medical Equipment items are provided on a first come-first serve basis. If you are in need of a specific type of medical equipment, please call us to check availability at 770-491-9014 or email us at fodac@fodac.org (Walk-in requests are not recommended).

FODAC’s home modifications program contracts with government funding sources to allow home access and transition out of nursing homes through the Money Follows the Person program at the Atlanta Regional Commission. If you are in a nursing home in the Atlanta area and feel you can live independently, please contact: (404) 210-8642 for transition services.

Vehicle adaptive equipment makes limited mobility a thing of the past. However, for many members of the disabled community, the cost of vehicle adaptations are prohibitive and virtually never covered by insurance. FODAC’s vehicle modification program, Operation ReMount, installs equipment such as scooter hitch lifts, full size van lifts, 4-point tie downs and more on your car for minimal cost.
