    The Atlanta Area Council is divided into 13 geographical areas called districts. The Foothills District includes Marietta and East Cobb, while the Silver Comet District covers Powder Springs, Austell, Mableton, Smyrna, Vinings, Kennesaw, Acworth, and NW Cobb. Each district is made up of local Scouting units called Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, and Exploring Posts. These units are chartered to a local school, religious organization, or community center. Scouting activities happen all year-long in your local neighborhood or at one of our beautiful scout camps.

All Programs

Cub Scouts is an active program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade, that encourages learning, friendship, and most of all fun! Youth learn by doing, and there is no end to the fun things that Cub Scouts do with their families, Cub Scout Packs, and at special events. Camp under the stars. Tie knots. Visit a police station. Shoot a bow and arrow. There is no limit to the fun things your Scout will do.

Scouts BSA is an outdoor program designed to develop character, citizenship, leadership, and fitness for young men and women ages 11 through 17. Scouting helps youth develop into a well-rounded young adults. The Eagle Scout Rank, the highest rank in Scouting, is recognized around the world as a mark of excellence and is available to all Scouts BSA members. Scouts can take part in many camping opportunities within their troop, at one of the Atlanta Area Council's two camps, or at one of the National High Adventure Bases. In Scouts BSA, youth take responsibility for the activities of the troop. By planning and organizing activities, they develop teamwork and learn to lead as well as follow.

Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 14-20. It provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields.

Venturing is a youth development program for young men and women who are 13 and have completed the eighth grade, or age 14 through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
