  • Organization Description:

Pathways2Life is committed to PREVENT addiction before it happens in this next generation. P2L educates students on the risks associated with early use. By being in the schools, P2L has the unique opportunity to engage students and help them identify risks associated with early use, make wise choices and live purposefully. There is a transition zone that exists between the ages of 13-20 where students are in the most danger for developing high-risk behavioral patterns. This presents an opportunity for Pathways2Life to engage students and help them to identify risks, choose wisely and live purposefully during those years which are traditionally middle and high school.

All Programs

Prevention is an offering of focused initiatives surrounding substance use/abuse attempting to prevent the onset of substance use to limit the development of problems associated with using psychoactive substances. These initiatives include school-wide assemblies, classroom guidance, student-led initiatives, SBIRT, parent education, teacher training and education and other focused initiatives.

Crisis/brief intervention is used for a variety of substance abuse problems from at-risk use to dependence. Brief interventions can help clients reduce or stop abuse, act as a first step in the treatment process to determine if clients can stop or reduce on their own, and act as a method to change specific behaviors before or during treatment.

Support groups are used to help people work through issues related to substance abuse or addictions, or any other life issues. We offer a support group in North Fulton and have the ability to offer this at local high schools or refer to other established groups. We can offer focused support groups for students with substance use/abuse/addiction issues meeting regularly during the week such as a SMART Choices group.

Pathways2Life partners with schools to transform lives. The Pathways2Life team brings over 6 years of drug and alcohol prevention, brief intervention services for at risk students and families and ongoing support groups focused on walking alongside students navigating life challenges. P2L assesses the needs of the school and student-body to determine what programs will fit in their environment offering a suite of solutions to include prevention, crisis intervention and support groups. Currently, Pathways2Life is working with Marietta High School through the Success Center, Decatur High School and Johns Creek High School with this continuum of care model.
