  • Organization Description:

Box of Balloons is a non-profit organization on a mission to make each birthday happy and every child celebrated. Every child deserves to feel special, be celebrated, and have a memorable party. Unfortunately that is not possible for many families. We work with human and social services + other community organizations to locate families in need. Our volunteers then put together a custom made party box, with all the necessary items for a parent/caregiver to host their child's birthday celebration. We believe that a birthday celebration can give families the joy and hope they may be missing, so please join us in helping families in our community celebrate their loved one(s). (Our organization is 100% run by volunteers and donations).

All Programs

Box of Balloons believes that anyone at any age can get involved in giving back and learning to serve others. Kids Helping Kids is our special volunteer program for children and their families to work together in making a birthday celebration possible for a child in need. Here's how: * Sign up on our website: www.boxofballoons.org/kids-helping-kids * Complete 3 service projects from the list * Once 3 service projects are completed, you can become a Kid Ambassador (receive a free t-shirt and special events privileges). By becoming a Kid Ambassador you are a shining example of kindness and volunteerism towards others! Service project ideas: * Host a party supply drive or fundraiser for our local chapter * Pledge your birthday * Create party games * Create party decorations * Bake for an upcoming party * Build a box for a child in need

Build a Box is our program where an individual, family, business, group, or school can sponsor birthday box for a child in need. We receive birthday requests from community organizations and social workers to create a custom birthday celebration for a sweet kiddo. You, your family, or your group can get involved in making that birthday possible. We will forward you all of the details, and then you can get to work in making a special celebration! There are several categories for the birthday box: * Decorating the outside of the box * Tableware and table decorations * Party Decorations: banner, balloons, confetti, etc. * Party favors for 6 children * Birthday gift, wrap, and blank card for the parents to give to their child. * 1 dozen cupcakes + candles * Party Game

One of our main projects is to celebrate a child in need. What better way to celebrate your own birthday, by giving back to a deserving kiddo. There are several ways to pledge: * Host a fundraiser: through a location or online, like FaceBook * Collect party supplies: host a supply drive or ask your guests to bring party supplies to use in one of our future boxes. * Build a box with your guests: sponsor a child's bday box. * Craft: create cards, decorations, party favor bags, games, etc for one of our future parties. This is a fun way to celebrate your birthday AND a birthday of another.

Volunteer

Volunteers

A birthday party is not always a reality for many families in our community. We want to help make it possible! Box of Balloons works with community organizations and social workers to identify families in need. Our volunteers work together to "pack a party in a box" with all of the necessary items for the parent/caregiver to host their child's dream party (this includes cake, candles, and a gift). The process: A social worker/community organization fills out our birthday request form in order for us to custom make the child's party. Once the box is complete, it's given to the connecting person, who then delivers to the family. Box of Balloons stays in the background, empowering the parents/caregivers to be their child's hero! Ways to volunteer: create or purchase items for the birthday boxes, decorate cards/boxes, donate to our chapter fund, bake or purchase cupcakes/baked goods, create party games and/or decorations. Our organization is for everyone, including young children! There are no age restrictions for our volunteers! What a great way to teach our little ones the value of showing kindness and love to others, in a way they can understand: a birthday party! A birthday party is so much more than cake and presents. It's about love, family, memories. It tells a child "you are loved," "you matter," "you are valued." Let's help make these lifelong memories possible for families and children in need! Check out our FB page for upcoming birthday requests and events: @boxballoonsroswell. We look forward to volunteering with you!
