Organization Description:
Village Connection Inc has four initiatives; Foster Care Love Bags, Homeless Outreach Care Bags, Caseworker Appreciation, and special projects surrounding foster care. The Foster Care Love Bags initiative helps kids in foster care and lets them know that someone cares. We want to make a difference in their lives by allowing them to carry their belongings in duffel bags instead of trash bags. Each duffel bag, known as a love bag, will include toiletry items, toys, books and a card. With this initiative, our goal is to provide essential care items for those in need. The Homeless Outreach Care Bags initiative is something that we take seriously, and our team is working to make a positive impact. Care bags will be provided to those who are homeless. Bags will include toiletry items, food gift card, socks, and a list of resources. Our Caseworker Appreciation initiative is to show our appreciation to caseworkers. They choose their line of work because they are passionate about the well-being of children but often are overburdened with paperwork and have an extremely heavy caseload as well. With this initiative, our goal is to let them know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication.

Volunteer
DFCS Point of Care Rooms Remodel
This will be a special project to remodel the Point of Care rooms at the Division of Family Services (DFCS) Cobb County Office. These are the rooms that kids experience first while in care with DFCS. We need volunteers to remove all items from the rooms, paint, assemble furniture and declutter the space. Toy donations also needed. These rooms are the first rooms that kids see when they come into the foster care system. Due to budget constraints these rooms have not had any update in years. They need all new toys, walls painted, new beds, organization, new furnishing, and more kid friendly. This touch would do so much to help kids who may have to spend all day in this room while their paperwork is processed and they find a foster home for them.
