  • Organization Description:

Our unique collaboration model engages veterans through a high-touch, high-technology approach, and coordinates their care via a seamless, integrated services network. The combination works to simplify, accelerate, and streamline the process for veterans seeking help in all areas relating to transitioning from military service back into their communities. TWA's network consists of 25 Greater Atlanta veteran service organization partners with proven expertise in human services and programs. Our "high-tech, high-touch" platform is enabled through a Salesforce system, called WarriorServe®, streamlining the collection and analysis of critical veteran information, allowing our community integration program to deliver connected, holistic solutions for veteran's needs. Once discharged or retired, the Service Member enters into an entirely new frontier, without structure or known organizations, and a society that may have changed considerably from the time they joined the military. The disconnect between the Veterans Administration, the public, and community service providers is contributing to the problem for those seeking to achieve a life of purpose after their military service. Below are a few observations that add to the challenge: - Veteran specific needs are not understood or communicated; - The process for veteran transition is not defined and often disjointed or non-existent; - Veteran support organizations work in silos and do not address holistic requirements; - The VA is currently not equipped to handle the complexity and magnitude of veteran reintegration; - Veteran engagement is often dependent on a personal advocate, building trust with the veteran, and working to remove barriers with service providers.
